BlackCoco – Biography – Music Base Africa!

Eno- Akpa Collete Ofundem known by the stage name Black Coco is a Cameroonian artist born on

March 06th 1997 in Kumba, a town in the South West Region of Cameroon. Raised in a small village
called Okoyong, she was well known for her ability to sing and dance. She attended Queen of the
Rosary College, the nation’s first girls’ secondary school in Okoyong, Mamfe. She holds a bachelor’s
degree in accounting from the university of Buea, Cameroon, as well as a postgraduate degree in business administration from Makerere Business School, Kampala, Uganda.

Black Coco was born into a musical family where parents and siblings are amazing vocalists and
composers thus the gift of singing from a very young age. She was assigned choir prefect in high school
because of her outstanding voice. Black Coco sang in a music band from 2016 to 2017 while she was a
student at the university, entered several music contests, and frequently came in first place because
of her burning love of music. After completing her postgraduate degree in Uganda in 2021, she finally
made the decision to turn her love for music into a career.

Black Coco typically sings about life. The difficulty and uncertainty that arise when you are still trying
to determine your purpose and conform to societal norms. Everyone is struggling in some way,
whether it’s in their relationships, careers, or other areas.

“All I try to do Is inspire people to live in spite of their l difficulties. My musical influences include the likes of: Asa, Simi, and Tems. I adore Simi’s delicate melodies and
the richness of Asa and Tems’ writing”.
“I listen to all genres of music. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of afrobeat, soul, pop, and country
music”.

Agbor Zion Tha Great, a great Hip Hop talent inspired by Lil Wayne & 50 Cent!

Agbor started rapping/singing way back in his secondary school days, he had an exercise book where he usually writes down rhymes from songs, and verses of rappers like Lil wayne, 50 cent etc. but before taking music as a career, Zion who was nick-named “Deco” “Petit Robinho” by friends at that time, was a footballer who has played the Cameroon 2nd division & other national competitions alongside Kounde malon from Best Star Fc Limbe and Fai Collins at Longla comprehensive college Mankon, who now plays at the National team. Altho he had passion for football, he could no longer continue with his dreams of being a football star due to waist and knee injuries.

It is not until 2012 that Zion decided to take Music as a career, That was when he met Kedze Levis A.k.a “Ray Boi” who mentored and introduced him to the label “Gudlife Muzik Enter10ment.

Zion released his first official single #TalentJamboreeShow under the label in 2013 after being selected as one of the winners of the “Carlos Annual Arts Festival – Freshmen Talent Jamboree” at Hotel Residence Carlos. Phillbeats was the man behind the song’s instrumental and then recorded and Mastered by Slimbeats.

Since then he has so far released other tracks like; #NaSoTheWorldDey #RudeGial #HandzUp, #Survival etc.. All available on his YouTube Channel.

Born in Buea, Cameroon and residing in Guinea Conakry, this multitalented artist will blow your mind with the depth of his lyrics and euphonious vocals, echoing a fresh mix of global contemporary melodies including afro-pop, Latin music, Contemporary R&B, Afro-soul, and Reggae musical genres.

The singer-songwriter released his debut studio EP “The Avenue” in 2022, featuring 15 minutes of memorable singles including “Avenue”, “You are my type”, “Dola” and “Shadows”, placing De Manne as one of the missing jigsaws pieces the African popular music industry has been looking for. His passion and irresistible versatility have forged him a diehard fanbase inspiring him to further push boundaries of contemporary popular music.

De Manne has moved from a simple press conference to collaborating with renown home based artists like BIG G BABA and Merveille Onguenet and releasing two music videos on YouTube in 2023, “Avenue” and “You are my type” with lyrics and storylines all written by him. “Avenue” has hit 1 million  views in two months meanwhile “you are my type”, an emotionally charged contemporary R&B song is expected sway global music critics to his side.
