Tems pays respect to Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Simi etc !

A lot of talks have been going on on twitter and other social networking apps after Tems won two BET Awards in one night.
Nigerian born singer, songwriter & Producer
,Temilade Openiyi who is professionally known as Tems grew up singing in her church choir in 2009 and rose to become one of AFRICA’s most treasured Acts!

Since she came to the spotlight after releasing great EPs like; illumination, for broken ears, if orange was a place AND also featuring on a track “Essence” with Wizkid, her popularity and voice in the African and most particularly the Nigerian entertainment industry has skyrocketed!

This has even caused fans to start comparing her to other female Nigerian singers like; Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Simi etc who should be considered the founding mothers of Nigerian Afrobeat.

The comparison intensified after she won a BET Award in the category of “Best International Act” … Tems seems not to like the comparisons as she has taken to her Twitter handle to pay respect to Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Simi , Asa, Oma Wuni, Waje , Teni, Niniola , Amaarae, Gykie etc

In her words she said : “I’m taking today to appreciate alll the Sisters today. Thank you for existing, thank you for deciding to get up and do something because someone saw that and became inspired by it…

When I see anyone of you gracing a stage, I feel like that’s me. We’re all winning and we’re about to move in like a Tsunami. So before it starts, know that Love lives on this side. As we show the world how it’s done…

And if I missed any messages it is definitely unintentional. I don’t take your kind words and support for granted. Sending you all love today because you DESERVE.
Love always❤️‍?…”
